[BUG] Draft order won't save shipping rates correctly

I have a test store, and the shipping rate is set to output a random number, seeing some weird behaviour with draft orders:

  1. when creating a draft order, once the shipping address is added, shopify automatically fetches a rate and this is saved on the order. (you can observe this with a rate being automatically selected)
  2. if i change the shipping rate, the dropdown shows a new rate (it’s a random number so changes every time), yet when i save it, it doesn’t change the rate on the order, even if i save the order and repeat, the dropdown shows a fresh rate, yet when i save, the rate isn’t updated on the actual order.

Second issue, if i change the address, again, shopify pulls a new rate immediately, and if i try to change the shipping rate again, an error pops up saying shipping line title cannot be blank. I have clearly selected a rate (it shouldn’t be blank) and yet it hasn’t saved on the order.

That’s interesting. I haven’t seen that before with carrier or app calculated shipping. Could you create a ticket at help.shopify.com so we can investigate further on that shop? Thanks!

I’ve also had a few merchants report a similar issue with POS, where they select one rate but another saves on the order, not sure if it’s related or not (and it’s not with app based rates either)
