Hello!
I’m experiencing the same error. I just created a new account and can’t purchase a theme. Can you help me?

@HAKAN_KAYA You may have to wait up to a few hours until you can make purchases.
Any updates on this issue? Are there any plans to solve this soon?
Hi Oana,
We’re currently working on this with a few tasks still in progress. While I don’t have a specific timeline to share yet, I’ll post an update here as soon as we ship the fix.
Hi Paige and a Happy New Year!
Do you have any updates on this when it will be fixed? We are still encountering this issue.
Hi Oana, Happy New Year to you too!
We’ve made progress on this but there’s still some work left to do. I’ll provide an update here once we’ve deployed a fix ![]()
Hi Paige,
I see that this issue still reproduces.
Is there any ticket I can follow on this subject? Or where can I open a ticket with Shopify about this matter? It’s really impacting our app.
This thread would be the best place to follow for updates on this issue.
A ticket is more ideal if you would like to report an issue or request the status of an issue.
I have checked our progress on this and it appears we had to temporarily deprioritize it to address a more urgent issue.
Hi @Paige-Shopify Just to say I’ve come across this issue as well when creating a new Store in the partner account for a client. We need to purchase the theme up-front to allow code editing etc. Thanks!
Facing the same issue here.
I’m aware that there already has been a lot of discussion around this issue, this is merely and attempt to remind the Shopify dev team that this is still one of the most confusing error messages you get on the platform.

Please provide users with a better error message if the provided payment method hasn’t yet been approved by Shopify to be used for purchases. The generic error message is quite confusing because by seeing it you’d assume that you haven’t added a payment method yet.
