Hey @Erkinboy_Botirov - just follow up on this here, it looks like this may be an error on our end. We’ve begun investigating fully and I’ll keep you up to date when I have more info on our end, thanks again for the patience on this!
How can a core UI component remain broken for almost a full year?
Wanted to update folks that we are in the middle of migrating away from Polaris for React and using preact + Polaris web components. The DatePicker finally renders the calendar in the right spot, however it still renders in admin blocks beyond the lower bounds of the screen in Safari with no scrolling triggered so users can’ actually interact with most of the dates in the calendar.
Just stating we still are having clipping issues in Safari, and since we don’t get to pick where AdminBlock extensions render, this effectively continues to render the date picker useless. If we make our extension tall enough to show the picker, we get a warning that it’s too tall. The picker should simply flip I believe.
Have there been any updates on this @Alan_G or @Liam-Shopify?
We’re running into this issue as well, but on the frontend when rendering a DatePicker inside a Modal on a Customer Account Extension. In cases where there is content overflow, there’s no way for the user to scroll to view/interact with the entire component.
Merchants (and their customers) are complaining to us about this issue, and we’d rather not have to develop a workaround to fix this.
I’ve attached a screenshot that shows a rough example of the problem:
@Kyle_W I’m not w/ Shopify, but as the OP I wanted to let you know I finally moved to a basic text-field with date validation, since the Shopify DateField couldn’t be used in our scenario in any reliable manner. We are going on a year now of this being an open issue with no acknowledgement that it’s being fixed, just that they are researching it. As far as I’m concerned, the DateField is a broken component and shouldn’t be offered currently.
