Draft markets are being applied

Hi there,

I am configuring several markets in my store, and draft markets are unexpectedly being applied in checkout. For example, I created:

  • A draft market for only Japan, with JPY currency and a fixed exchange rate.
  • An active market for Japan and more countries, that uses local currencies.

At checkout, when introducing a Japanese address, the shipping rates are being converted with the draft market configuration, not with the active one.

Please could you take a look?

Kind regards

Hi,

I’m not able to replicate this issue on a test store.

Did you create your markets with marketCreate or through the admin?

Hi,

I created markets from Shopify admin.

I have created an example store for you, cbb-markets-shipping-rates-issue.myshopify.com. In this store I have created two markets for japan:

  • A draft market for only Japan, with JPY currency and a fixed exchange rate extremely exaggerated, 1 USD = 1 JPY (dynamic exchange is about 1 USD = 160 JPY).

  • An active market for Japan and more countries, that uses local currencies.

Furthermore, I have created a shipping rate for Japan of 10 USD:

If the active market was applied, the shipping rates would be around 1600 JPY (10 USD * 160 exchange rate). However, as you can see at the checkout for a Japanese address, the shipping rate is 10 JPY, because the exchange rate 1 to 1 from the draft market is being applied.

In fact, I though that this problem was affecting only shipping rates, but now I am seeing that it is also affecting product prices.

Could you take a look? Feel free to make all tests you need with this store.
