How do revenue/CRO apps show their value in App Store screenshots without violating screenshot policies?

Hi Everyone,
I am building shopify App. Our app’s purpose is to help merchants increase sales and understand performance in terms of revenue

But screenshot review feedback asks us to remove things like:

  • Statistics or percentage claims
  • Unsubstantiated outcome claims
  • Certain promotional language around growth/improvement

The problem is: if we remove all numbers, revenue metrics, and outcome-oriented language, the screenshots no longer communicate what the app is for. A merchant looking at our listing wouldn’t understand that Gambit is a revenue conversion tool — it would look like a generic “store scanner.”

For apps whose value is analytics and revenue impact — how do you structure App Store screenshots?
Has anyone successfully appealed or clarified with App Review when the product category inherently involves metrics and revenue language?

I’d really appreciate examples from apps in analytics, CRO, upsell, or revenue optimization — especially what passed review and what had to change.

Thanks in advance.

Hey @SergioWork - thanks for raising this, I definitely get where you’re coming from here for CRO/revenue apps.

I can’t promise what App Review will accept in a specific case, but the safest approach is usually to show the app’s workflow and functionality rather than promised outcomes. I’d avoid screenshot copy like “increase revenue by X%”, “recover $X”, or “guaranteed lift”, and instead use feature-focused framing like “revenue attribution dashboard”, “conversion opportunity scan”, “recommended optimizations”, or “A/B test reporting”.

If Review flagged specific screenshots, I can take a look to see if I can help with any recommendations for revising around showing functionality without performance claims.

Hope this helps!
