How to bulk edit the new "Has no standardized identifier" Checkbox?

Hi @Nicholas_Smolinske, you’re not missing anything. There’s no column for it in the product CSV spec, no bulk editor column I could find, and the field isn’t in any stable Admin API version, so the standard bulk tools can’t set it today. There’s some related background in this thread on the new identifier rules.

It can still be automated, though. On the unstable API version, productVariantsBulkUpdate accepts a compliance input that records the declaration for every variant in the call.

mutation {
  productVariantsBulkUpdate(
    productId: "gid://shopify/Product/123"
    variants: [
      { id: "gid://shopify/ProductVariant/456", compliance: [{ key: Y081, value: "true" }] }
    ]
  ) {
    userErrors { field message }
  }
}

One call per product covers all of that product’s variants. The unstable version can change without notice, so treat this as a migration helper rather than something to build on long term.

For your replacement customizer app, the create mutations (productSet, productVariantsBulkCreate) don’t accept compliance, so have the app run a productVariantsBulkUpdate right after it creates the variants. That keeps the declaration set without a second manual pass. And steer clear of placeholder barcodes like “None”; they don’t record the declaration and just pollute the identifier data.
