Have not had time to read through the article but I did want to link to this post regarding cart redirection from checkout for headless.

Change the url of "Back to cart" button in checkout page

Hi there, you need to install this theme (GitHub - Shopify/hydrogen-redirect-theme) to make the Liquid store automatically redirect to the Hydrogen store.
