Importing custom metafields... not showing in Blogs

Hello,
I’m attempting to migrate some blogs from Wordpress to Shopify using Matrixify, and I’m having trouble getting a custom metafield to populate.

I have set up the metafield definition within the store settings as “contributor_name” as a single line text. This shows as “custom.contributor_name” under the Namespace and key section.

When importing, I have a CSV with a column heading of “Metafield: custom.contributor_name [single_line_text_field]” and have also tried setting the field type to [string], but I can’t seem to get the value to populate within the blog posts. Is this not possible, or perhaps I’m not naming the heading correctly?

When I export the blogs after manually setting the custom metafield within the blog post, I see 2 columns titled “Metafield: wordpress.Metafield: custom.contributor_name [single_line_text_field]” and “Metafield: wordpress.Metafield: wordpress.Metafield: custom.contributor_name [string]”. I’ve also tried using these as the column headings, but no luck. Can anyone advise on this?

Are you receiving any errors? Matrixify will usually allow you to download an ‘import report’ once you’ve attempted an import, and it will display any errors.

There was an error upon first loading the Wordpress export file into Matrixify, saying the “Tags” column was missing (client wasn’t using tags). After some more trial and error following the instructions found here, I was able to solve the issue… I was saving my edited import results file as a CSV, and it needed to be XLSX. Custom metafields are now populating in the blog posts!
