Is anyone else disappointed with Polaris Web Components - so many missing features

I’m going to wait until Shopify actually start using the Web Components themselves i.e. in the admin..

Good luck, most pages in Shopify admin don’t follow all the rules requires for getting the Built For Shopify badge

Why not to fully migrate the whole Shopify admin to web components first, test it properly in the process and then only after that roll it out as the recommended way to create new apps?

My feeling is that higher in the hierarchy they decided to call us partners, but it’s not a partner relationship, we’re here to test and to serve as a buffer between shopify and the merchants.

I’m extremely disappointed with these web components. It’s not very fun to build Shopify Apps that look and feels like Shopifys UI. It’s hard to rely on the docs, since they are very messy, and often times incorrect. Lot’s of trial and error.

There are no answers to the questions in the community forums. There’s no transparency into the development process. There’s no official changelog. There’s no source to look at.
Sometimes there’s posts on this forum, but the Shopify staff seem to just ignore important questions.

One thing that happened a few days ago was that custom-elements.json is shipped in the latest @shopify/polaris-types, but no mention of it anywhere.

This is not the way to treat partners. This is also not the way to make all apps look like they belong in the Shopify Admin.
