Is anyone else here keen on an option to fully opt out of Shop Pay + Shop App?

It’s very clear to us why Shopify wants this, however for us these both create far more headaches than the value they add. We would LOVE the ability to be able to opt out completely.

Please Shopify overlords, if you are listening, give us this option!

We love Shopify otherwise - and this would really improve our experience as a vendor.

P.S. While Shop Pay can in fact be turned off fully, for businesses like ours that offer a subscription, turning off risks losing a huge chunk of subscribers who currently have Shop Pay as their saved payment method (mostly unknowingly, based on our conversations with them) and would go into payment method update flows.

Now that the situation is what it is, we’d appreciate a way to turn off Shop Pay on the front-end to prevent more people from checking out with Shop Pay, so that we can gradually move our historic Shop Pay customers to other payment methods.

Definitely, but Shopify would lose money/market, so I doubt they will offer an option to do this :slightly_smiling_face:

To add to this since it’s not mentioned in the other thread. If you don’t want to deactivate it (due to current subscribers), there are ways you can hide it.
