Negative committed quantity

Hello, we have an issue with a product in one of our customer’s shop. Specifically a product where the “committed” quantity is negative, with no associated orders. We’re wondering how this is possible and whether it is a bug in Shopify or not.

When clicking on the “committed” quantity, the popover that usually shows the associated orders loads indefinitely, however in the network tab we can see that the request for the data in this popover completes successfully, but the response shows the product’s “committed” quantity has no “activeLedgerDocuments”, causing the UI to stay in the loading state forever. This leads us to believe that the “committed” quantity being negative is unexpected on your side in the first place. The product was created in October 2025. Other products are multiple years old.

By reading the documentation and older forum posts is does not seem intended for this value to be negative and there seems to be no way to manually get this to be 0 again.
