Orders being attributed to Amazon and Google?

I’m noticing some weird behaviour when creating orders through my app.

I’ve posted similar things before (with no resolution) but this seems to be slightly different.

The Channel Information for the order correctly displays my app.

However, I am getting a new message at the top of the order page.

I don’t even have the Google Sales Channel installed on my dev store and it is still showing up as from Google.

The timeline looks okay as well.

It used to say from Order's Up! or sometimes from Order's Up! (via import).

That screenshot is from my dev-app (using a different client id and .toml file). Which seems to properly report the app name.

Any idea what could be going on?

Hi @ozzyonfire! I took a look into what could be causing this for you.

What you’re seeing in the header is the resolved order attribution, which is separate from the Channel Information card. With the 2026-07 order attribution changes, the order page displays the order attribution definition matching the order’s sourceName or channel reference, and apps can configure their own sources with handles like amazon or google. So “from Google” doesn’t mean the Google Sales Channel is installed but that the order resolved to a definition whose display name is Google.

You can confirm it by querying the order directly:

(channelInformation is deprecated in favor of attribution, but it’s still what the Channel Information card reflects.)

If attribution.handle comes back as google while channelInformation.app is still your app, that matches what the guide describes. I’d checl what your app passes as sourceName when it creates these orders, and whether the dev-app configuration (the one showing the app name correctly) has a different attribution setup than the production client.

Hi @Donal-Shopify - thanks for the reply on this and sorry for my late response.

I read through all the documentation, but something still doesn’t look right.

  1. My app is not a sales channel. Which means there is no source configuration or attrubution set up on my end.
  2. Here is the result from the above graphQL query.
