Guys Please Help Out!!!
They seem to not work on the Mini Friday - Monday. If you submit on Thursday, the earliest I’ve heard is Tuesday. Also they reject for many reasons not indicated in the guideline and will reject by piecemeal (way worse than Apple, Apple sometimes surfaces several reasons so we can fix all issues at once). I doubt we will make the Dec 20th deadline.
@yuki.konda Actually, I’ve received feedback on Mondays before (once or twice), so I suspect the delay may be due to a high volume of submissions and/or not enough reviewers.
That said, I agree that feedback doesn’t always cover all issues upfront, which can result in multiple submission rounds before approval, which honestly can feel discouraging sometimes.
I’m also curious about how submissions are prioritised. For example, I received two rounds of feedback/rejections for the same app on 2 consecutive days, while another app I submitted on Monday morning is still marked as PENDING as of Tuesday afternoon, not even in TESTING yet.
For me, the submission will go into TESTING on Friday if I submit on a Thursday, then will remain so until Tuesday. I also wonder if someone particular is assigned to review each app, it seems like mine is reviewed by someone in London because of the timings of emails.
Also another thing is that the program is now public, so I doubt they now need to incentivize developers to make Mini’s. Perhaps they can simply keep rejecting or not reviewing mini’s to avoid bounty payment (although it would not help the developer relations)
Yes, I think each app would be assigned to a reviewer who can make the call to approve or reject the app. You can however, book a call with David and ask for feedback on the rejection reasons if you think the decision was not good.
One of my app was rejected with a couple of reasons, and after the call, we agree that some of them were unnecessary for the first version of the app (although they make sense to add to the next iteration).
I don’t think that’s the case. Why refuse if you can accept all and let users decide what they like most and looking at installation and usage stats reward developers.
I’m also trying to address listed issues as soon as I get feedback and often time it helps to get second revision within a day, but this iteration it’s in TESTING since Thursday, Dec 11 too. So having started submitting around Dec 1, I still missed Dec 5th deadline (Featured spot) but hoping to get approved before 20th, or at least to see they extended submission/approval deadlines.
Yes, for some reason this works as well. Try to address the issues as soon as you got the feedback, then once the app is submitted again, it’s queued for TESTING almost immediately.
I think an extension would be a reasonable thing to do given the speed of reviewing was a bit slow and as @yuki.konda mentioned, we needed to do multiple submissions to fix all issues
Anyways I wish you agood luck, guys and hope to see you in person sooner than later, at the Shopify conference, somewhere in Las Vegas. ![]()
Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, this is really helpful context.
I agree that the review queue and iteration cycles seem to vary quite a bit. In my case, I’ve already addressed all the feedback I received across submissions and made sure everything aligns closely with the current guidelines before re-submitting.
At this point, my intent with this post was mainly to signal that the Minis are ready and pending review, especially with the Dec 20 deadline approaching. Totally understand that each Mini is assigned to a reviewer and that the team is likely handling a high volume right now.
If further feedback comes in, I’m happy to iterate quickly again that’s been the approach throughout this process. Appreciate everyone here sharing insights, and wishing good luck to all of us building for Shop Minis. Hope to see some of these Minis live soon ![]()

Thank you all for sharing your experience !
We’re in the same boat. We worked over multiple weekends to address the feedback and submit as soon as possible, but the reply is often delayed and the feedback is a bit vague.
I have to say that the latest feedback by the Shopify team was very helpful. I just hope we get approved after that and before Dec 20.
We spent a lot time and effort and if we don’t get something back in compensation, our very small company will be stained.
I just don’t want to regret accepting the invitation to develop Minis. I share the sentiment that extending the Dec 20 deadline is in order.
Likewise. we’ve pushed aside many other development to work on the mini, if we don’t get compensated for this effort, and I believe we were reasonable to expect it as the initial submission was on Nov 30th and the mini has barely changed since then, only responding to review feedback, our decision was not justified.
@steve-t-shopify sir can you look into this ?
Hey all, David from the Shop Minis team here. We see this thread and hear you.
The review volume has been higher than anticipated, and we know the iteration cycles + deadline pressure is stressful, especially for those of you who submitted early and have been responsive to feedback.
We’re continuing to prioritize working through reviews as quickly as possible this week. If you’re in the queue and actively iterating, you’re on our radar.
Appreciate your patience and the effort you’ve put in. More soon.
Thanks you @davidhoffman-shopify !
Hi @NicolasChav-Shopify @davidhoffman-shopify ,
I just now received feedback for my mini and it says the following. I have copied only the parts that concern me.
————————————-
***Disabled Mini: Needs UX Work to Re-enable**
*
Thank you for your work on your Mini. As you know, it was approved and went live — and you received the incentive payment for that milestone.
Reviews are paused from December 20th through January 5th. Use this time to address all the feedback we’ve provided. Don’t rush — take the time to make your resubmission your best effort. Submit on or after January 5th, with all noted issues resolved.
————————————-
I have not received any payment for that milestone or any information from the Shopify Staff.
I am an individual and have been working on multiple minis full time for the last 30 days and I was very hopeful of the minis getting approved by December 20th. Without any compensation I will be in a difficult position this month.
Any information about compensation will be very helpful.
Thanks

Just to update the channel, we received feedback on Dec 19. I which it were more actionable this time, but it was more on the general side. In any case, we are going to continue the effort since we are already spent great effort and don’t want it all to go to waste. We will address the feedback and test with focus groups of all ages before we submit to the Shopify team. I really need our Minis to be approve so our effort is not for nothing and we could recoup some of our investment for our small company.
Thanks Shopify team for your continuous support.
We addressed the feedback and tested with focus groups of all ages (got very positive feedback). We submitted the Minis to the Shopify team on Jan 4 to hit the ground running for the review resumption by the Shopify team on Jan 5. So far we did not get any response. Hopefully we will soon.
