We have a role for staff to fulfill orders.
Next to view permissions for orders and customers, they have the following order permissions:
- Fulfill and ship
- Buy shipping labels

The assumption would be, that they have everything the need to fulfill and ship an order. However, we noticed they cannot select any packaging set up in the settings, that is not the default packaging.
Partner support confirmed that this is currently not included in the mentioned permissions.
To resolve it, the recommendation is to give the role also the “Manage shipping and delivery” permission for “Store settings”.
We don’t want them to be able to change the settings at all. Just use the ones that have been set.
My requests:
- Adjust the docs and permission names to make this more clear
- Allow selecting non-default packaging without the extra store settings permission
