Hey everyone, I built PlayPolaris, a free, open-source playground for prototyping App Home screens with Polaris web components.
You can drag components into a preview, adjust their properties, and switch between Polaris v1 and v2 RC to compare how a layout looks. It checks nesting and slot rules as you build, and you can export the result as HTML or React JSX to use in your app.
It’s useful for trying out a component or layout without setting up a project first. There’s no signup, your work is saved locally in your browser.
You can also connect an AI through WebMCP to build out the UI for you, and that is entirely optional.
The project focuses on the UI; it doesn’t simulate App Bridge APIs or replace testing in a real Shopify app.

I’d be interested to hear which parts of prototyping with Polaris you find most awkward, and whether this would help with them.
