Was able to speak with some of our product folks on this, and I still can’t share a timeline on a potential fix, but can confirm they are aware of the issue. We did also look into a possible workaround in the meantime.
If you’re looking at clearing SEO data (which are contained in embedded metafields), you should be able to use the SEO input fields in the mutation:
