Search_shop_catalog tool vanished without notice!

Hi @Joe_Dempsey,

update_cart and get_cart are now on the UCP endpoint at https://{shop-domain}/api/ucp/mcp. See the Cart MCP reference for the full schema.

The UCP specification does not define a policies or FAQs capability, so at this point there is no UCP migration path for search_shop_policies_and_faqs. You will find it documented at Policy and FAQs tool.

At this stage, the best places to watch for upcoming changes are emails from us, the developer changelog, and announcements on these dev forums.

Feedback channel

For feedback, post under the Agentic Commerce category and we will be reading those. I can forward your feedback about wanting inventory support. Would filtering by availability cover your use case, or do you need something beyond that?

Password-protected stores

I will look into this one and follow up.

Hi @Paige-Shopify , thanks for your response. I am bit new to Shopify. Can you help me understand how do i subscribe to emails from Shopify:

Thanks for the update

Re: inventory / availability . Availability would 100% not be enough for many use cases.

The buying process is often multi step & would be relevant to inform people if inventory is low as it does impact buying decisions in real time. This is especially true in certain stores

e.g.

  • b2b where user may buy multiple components (binary in/out-stock is of no value if the user needs 20 of variant X and 10 of variant Y to complete their build)
  • at certain times of year when inventory can literally change in seconds.
  • if we’re e.g. writing scripts to optimise for deals / multi buys - we need to know that qty is in stock before suggesting

If the goal is to build useful shopping tools on top of the tools - 100% inventory is relevant.

Re: password protection
I understand why this is done in a way

but for merchants preparing stores to go live and developers building this limits things
