Hey guys, hope you are keeping well and enjoying the weather!
I wonder if anyone can help me.
I am struggling with constant 404errors triggered by products going on draft when sold out. I see this can be addressed with one of the Flow App workfows - “Create redirect URLs when a product’s status changes”.
Is there a default value for all products which go on draft to put in the path section?
Or do I need to define patch for each individual variant here in the settings?
Please see the image for your reference.
I just used the hard-coded myshopify.com URL for the redirect. If you do have a collection which is called “All Products” per your set up there, it should redirect the user to that specific collections after checking to see if the specific product is deactivated.
Since variants “live” under their parent’s handle (like this: /my-product?variant=47471390261554), the child variants shouldn’t be accessible once the parent product is converted back into a “draft” listing.
Hope this helps/makes sense - let me know if I can clarify anything on my end here
Hi Alan, that’s wonderful! Thanks very much for clarifying that for me and helping me out, you are a Rock Star!!!
I now have “All products” collection ready for all the redirects, so no more 404 caused by sold out products right!?
Have a great day my friend, I hope no too bother you to much!
