Shopify Setup: Delivery vs. In-Store Fitting with Conditional Charges & Quantity Rules

Hello Shopify Community/Support,

We are running a tyres and rims business on the Shopify Basic plan and need assistance with setting up our online store to handle both delivery and in-store fitting.

Specifically, we’d like to know if the following is possible:

  1. Delivery/Fitting Options:
  • How can we provide customers with two distinct options at checkout:
    • ‘Deliver to my address’
    • ‘Schedule in-store fitting’
  1. Conditional Fitting Charges:
  • Is there a way to automatically add a ‘Fitting Fee’ to the order total only when the customer selects the ‘Schedule in-store fitting’ option?
  1. Quantity Consistency (Fitting):
  • For ‘Schedule in-store fitting’ orders, can we ensure that the quantity of tyres/rims ordered online matches the quantity to be fitted? We want to prevent customers from ordering, say, 2 tyres online but expecting fitting for 4.
  1. Conditional Delivery Charges:
  • For ‘Deliver to my address’ orders:
    • We need to apply standard delivery charges to orders going to residential addresses.
    • We want to offer free delivery to commercial addresses.
    • How can we configure Shopify to differentiate between residential and commercial addresses during the checkout process to apply the correct delivery fee?

Any help or guidance on how to achieve these functionalities within Shopify (or with suitable apps) would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Great to hear you’re looking to expand customer options for your online store channel, however this community forum is for developers building on Shopify using our APIs. Your best bet would be to ask over on the merchant forums here: https://community.shopify.com/c/technical-q-a/bd-p/technical-qa
