&template=collection on App Embed block deep linking causes infinite loading / Save disabled

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue when using &template=collection on App embed block deep linking.

Behavior:

  • App Embed is enabled → OK
  • Theme Editor opens at collection
  • Loading bar stuck at ~20%
  • Save button stays disabled forever

The only workaround:

  • Toggle the App Embed off → on
  • Loading disappears, Save works again

Deep linking without the template param works fine.

Has anyone experienced this before?
Is this a known Theme Editor issue or is there a recommended workaround?

I also saw this bug today, a super-annoying bug. We get a lot of support requests because of it.

Is this only happening when the target template is collection or for all template types?
