Theme app extension block's setting attribute "autofil" not working

Hi,

I created a theme app extension. I added a liquid block under blocks/test.liquid, in which I have settings. One of these settings is the following:

However, when I deploy, I get an error saying the autofill attribute is not valid:

Validation errors   
• bundle: [blocks/test.liquid] Invalid tag 'schema': settings: with id="collection" 'autofill' is not a valid  attribute

if I remove it, it works well. After browsing the documentation for autofill I do not see anything wrong.

Any idea?

Could you please confirm the two points?

  • A dynamic source pointing to the parent section’s resource setting of the same type.

  • A dynamic source pointing to the template’s global resource.

Does the parent section having a setting of the same type (collection) ?

@AMaL I’m sorry I’m not sure to follow you. Are you talking of the theme editor?

The issue I mentioned above is when the extension is deployed, it will not deploy at all. It’s not an issue with the theme editor. It’s with shopify cli ‘shopify app deploy’

@feken_baboyan thanks for confirming that. The use case is the following.

I have a shopify app that deals with collections. The app will add some metafields to a collection, it will help to create hierarchy between collections.

The app block helps to add a breacrumb to the theme for a given collection, based on what was configured in the admin.

I want to use the autofill feature to auto populate the collection settings when the app block is added to a collection page.
