User Data Rights (Deletion & Retrieval)

  • The Issue:

    • Apple: Requires an in-app, self-serve “Delete Account” button.

    • Google: Requires a mechanism for users to “Retrieve/Download” their data.

  • Constraint: Shopify Accounts do not have self-serve buttons for either action. They require manual merchant intervention.

  • The Question: Since these features don’t exist natively, what is the recommended API approach to trigger account deletion and data retrieval requests?
