When is the deadline for App Bridge v4 migations?

Hello,

I have a few questions about the “Use the latest version of App Bridge on every page of your app” requirement for Built for Shopify compliance.

  1. It says “July 2025.” What is the specific date this requirement will go in effect? July 1st, 2025?
  2. If our apps don’t have App Bridge v4 by that date, will we immediately lose BFS status? Or will we have a grace period?
  3. How real-time is Shopify’s App Bridge v4 detection? For example, if my app went live with App Bridge 4 at 11:59 P.M. the night before the deadline, would Shopify detect we were on v4 and preserve our BFS status?

Hi Tobe - great questions, I’m digging into these. In the meantime, are there any technical blockers for you migrating to AB4?

Using App Bridge V4 is a requirement from today July 1st, however there’s a grace period until 8/30 before apps would lose Built for Shopify status. RE: detection, we run daily checks so in your example it may not be detected at midnight. I’d recommend migrating as soon as possible to avoid disruption.
