Would automated tracking monitoring be useful for Shopify agencies?

I’m building a tool that automatically checks if Shopify tracking breaks after theme, app or GTM changes.

Right now it checks things like view_item, add_to_cart, checkout and GA4/GTM.

I’d really like feedback from people managing Shopify stores:

  • Would this be useful in your workflow?
  • What else would you want it to detect?
  • Which tracking issues cause you the most trouble?

I’m also looking for a few people willing to test it for free.

What problem(s) are you aiming to solve with this solution?

Merchants can use the pixel helper to validate the health of their installed pixels.

Aș răspunde simplu, fără să menționezi CommerceTrace și fără să sune defensiv:

Good point. The main difference I’m exploring is continuous monitoring rather than a manual one-time check.

The idea would be to automatically run key storefront actions like product view, add to cart and checkout, verify that tracking still works, and alert the merchant if something that previously worked breaks after a theme, app or GTM change.

I’m also considering checks for missing/duplicate events and discrepancies between Shopify and analytics platforms.

I’m mainly trying to understand whether that would solve a real problem beyond what Pixel Helper already covers.
