429 errors while using CLI for theme dev

Short description of issue

429 Error for CLI theme development

Reproduction steps

Use CLI for theme dev
Refresh page a few times, after hot reloads - using scss locally to compile and using Shopify ignore patterns for reducing reloads.

shopify theme dev --store=.myshopify.com -x=“.scss" -x=".map”

This has only started happening for me today around 10am uk time, if this is a new rate limit then it is way too low!

$ Shopify version 3.93.2 ( not upgrading as the new version a a little broken as talked about in other threads )

$ node -v v25.2.1

Just updated to CLI v4

$ Shopify version 4.0.0

Used for about 15 mins and so far no issue!

I hope to report back when I can later today after editing for a full day. I think on the face of it Version 4 might have fixed this, though I do not want to speak to soon!

Other than the currency selector is not working on 127.0.0.1:9292

It results in a 401 when you change currency ( will look for a topic for that as a separate issue )

@KyleG-Shopify This is now fixed, I think I saw it was down to “key pairs” in the end and this can be marked as solved
