429 (Too Many Requests) working on dev theme

Short description of issue

We’re working on a site we have worked on many times before with no issues and today we’re being rate limited almost immediately. Our collections grid uses Vue.js so we are fetching 20-30 products at a time but it’s never had an issue before. How are you meant to develop themes with these new strict rate limits? I switch over to my mobile network and i’m again rate limited after 2 minutes. This is a bit of a joke.

Yeah it is, there are a few threads on this from what I can tell. Developing themes is becoming impossible at the moment, i’m being rate limited after 1 minute of running shopify theme dev. This is an actual joke Shopify!
