Hi everyone! I noticed that Shopify’s Liquid certification mentions the “Accelerator Theme” as a more minimalistic alternative to Dawn. Does anyone know if the source code is publicly available? My team is looking for a streamlined starter theme, and this seems like it could be a great fit. Thanks in advance!
Hi Cory. The “Accelerator Theme” is now available. Here’s the zip link in case: https://cdn.shopify.com/static/partner-resources/accelerator-theme-main.zip
@Bahar-Shopify thank you for this! Is there a repo where this lives that gets updated? Ideally we’d like to stay up to date if Shopify puts new stuff in there, though it is a bare bones theme, so I get that they may not add to it as much.
@corey The repo is not public as far as I know. Yeah, the accelerator theme is meant to be a practice theme only so there are no plans for any changes or updates to be made. However, we can definitely look into making the repo public for community access. Let me check with the team who owns it. It may take sometime though. If I get any updates in this regard, I will post here.
Thanks for the info and that’d be fantastic! I feel like there are many devs that would benefit from a theme that is a really good starting place, but bare bones enough to build on top of without having to rip out tons of CSS and JS. Dawn can be there, but I’ve seen where our team uses almost none of the pre-existing sections and have to dramatically alter the collection pages and search, not to mention we have to rip a lot of CSS since we use tailwind.
Hi @cory_kelley, I’ve been looking for a decent starter theme for a while to no avail, so I created one myself built with some of the common features my clients have all asked for over the last few years. Check it out at https://taillourtheme.com for further details.
It’s saved me a lot of time to date, and I’m actively keeping it up to date, with loads of additional features planned for it to next year.
