Add a fee to cart on on checkout with pick up in store delivery method

Hi, I just want to know that, Is it possible to programmatically add a fee as a separate line item or adjustment that is included in the order total at checkout when “Pick up” is selected? And
Are there any Shopify Function types or extension points that support this use case, or would we need to use a workaround?
