APIs are properly syncing tracking info but not triggering email notifications

Hi!

I have integrated admin APIs with another platform (Zort) to fulfill my orders but after the order status has changed to “Fulfilled”, it doesn’t trigger Shopify to send a shipping email to customer. I tried “Mark as Fulfilled” but it still doesn’t send the email.

Is this due to API integration limitation? Does anyone know how to resolve this?

It’s possible your 3rd party platform is not sending notifyCustomer: true when they fulfill the order, I’d advise reaching out to them to investigate.
