I am trying to solve exactly the same problem. Hope someone can share a solution here. @Liam-Shopify, any ideas?
I have two dev stores - one set up a while back and one newly created.
On the older one, I can’t drag an app block between different levels of the tree.
On the new one, I can.
Both are running a freshly installed copy of Horizon (4.1.1).
To be more specific, I’m adding the block to the “Product Information” section of the Default Product template, then attempting to drag it into the “Details” group.
Anyone know why I’d be seeing different behaviour here? It would be great if you could drag between levels on all stores.
No, this is not possible. You can try to target the main section following this doc. But the theme may not have the section with the main ID.
Also, the user can’t move from the “Not here” to the “Here” location as your screenshot. The theme editor is very limiting. The user has to remove the app block and add it again to the details part. I think the theme editor’s user experience is not satisfactory.
@gunner Maybe they are testing this feature on the new stores and observing the analytics data. Or they disabled it on older stores to prevent confusion. Well I saw a lot of radical and frustrating changes on the theme editor so feature flagging this simple behavior is interesting indeed.
Can you take a screenshot or short screen recording of this new behavior?
