Auto Opt-In paid product in cart - Consequences

Are there consequences for apps that still allow auto Opt-in paid products in a cart? (Shipping Protection)

I’m a little confused as to how popular / BFS cart apps can still do this.
We are totally okay with removing features due to terms changing… but if its not applied to all apps especially BFS this seems unfair.

We have had a lot of customers reaching out saying they are switching to other cart apps because they allow this.
Losing long time merchants and all we can say is… its against Shopify terms they might get delisted.

Would like some clarity around this if possible :slight_smile:

Developers should not create features that auto-adds anything that changes a customers cart total, without being given the option to add it. I can’t comment on individual cases, however we do have a form for flagging issues to our internal team here: Report a partner violation - Shopify
