I recently noticed that color swatch metaobjects are not working correctly with some categories. Example category is “Athletic Shoes”. When I selected this category I was getting error for my Color metafield saying Invalid values.
I also wrote a blog post about how to avoid this issue by changing category but I think root cause here needs to be investigated and fixed.
Our team were unable to reproduce the issue you’ve described. It’s possible the product category got in consistent state with the colour values. Are you seeing this for other product categories?
