Camera scanner not available for Polaris Web Components

I’m about to start a project soon including a POS UI Extension which definitely also needs the camera scanner.

As it’s a complete new project without any existing codebase it would make perfect sense to start it directly using Polaris Web Components.

Why is the camera scanner component missing? And can we expect that this component gets added in the near future?

Is there a workaround available? I tried to mix 2025-10 code with the `CameraScanner` React component without success.

Hi there,

We were unable to get the Camera Scanner components in for 2025-10, but it will return in 2026-01. Unfortunately you cannot mix 2025-07 and 2025-10 components.

This component is prioritized and will be available in 2026-01-rc once it’s ready.

Apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime, but hope you can start moving forward without the component in the meantime and plug it in once it’s available.
