We are getting reports that information during checkout is not accurate/outdated in some scenarios. In our tests it takes up to 45 seconds before the correct data is used.
Steps to reproduce:
Add items to cart
Continue to checkout
Enter the email of an existing account that has VAT / TAX collection enabled.
You will see the checkout price including tax.
Go to your Shopify admin panel and disable VAT / TAX collection on this account.
Go back to the checkout and update any value (address, payment etc), this will trigger data to be refreshed or refresh the page. The VAT / TAX remains to be applied up to 45 seconds.
What I expect:
I’m not sure when this changed but when we developed features for the checkout related to customer data changes, the changes were instant and not delayed.
I haven’t been able to reproduce this issue on a shop yet. Are you seeing this across multiple shops? It might worth reaching out to support for additional assistance.
