Deleted QR Code redirect page

Hi all,

we are looking for somebody who can fix the following:

We have generated a QR code for one of our products that refers to a shopify page. The QR code generator has generated the following link:

https://efzhtkhzv9okhyok-60274409524.shopifypreview.com/pages?preview_key=87d8907a506ed5a6a93ec437e6a4aa55

Unfortunately, the QR code has been deleted, but it is still on our product, The code shall redirect to the following page:

Obviously, Shopify could not work out how to simply “redesign” the 1st URL page and make it still happen that the QR code refers to it.

Can anybody help (eventually for a fee)?
We need to fix this as one of our major products otherwise has the wrong code and we need t exchange hundreds of products to put a new QR code on it.

Thanks!
Ingo

Thank you for explaining the issue. From what I understand, the problem lies with the QR code generated for your products. Here’s a summary of the situation:

  1. The QR code originally linked to a Shopify “preview” URL:
    https://efzhtkhzv9okhyok-60274409524.shopifypreview.com/pages?preview_key=87d8907a506ed5a6a93ec437e6a4aa55
However, this URL was temporary and is no longer accessible.
  2. The goal is to have the QR code redirect to the correct public Shopify page for Das Wuschelmonster - The Fluffy Monster.

This seems to be the core of the issue. Please confirm if I’ve understood this correctly.

yes exactly that is it!

Phew, I don’t think there is any way to recover that…

The best solution would probably be to use a URL shortener next time and then use the generated shortened URL in the QR code. This way you can change the internal link afterwards.

Thanks. We will use shopcodes from Shopify. However, this was a huge mistake. Is there any chance to fix it?

I don’t believe there is a way to fix this.

If it had been going to your URL and not shopifypreview.com then there would have be a DNS fix. But because it’s the preview url it’s gone.

While not a great solution - printing a new QR code sticker and putting it over the QR code on the product might be the best move for now.

@Ingo_Blum I think your only option here is if you happened to use a QR code generator that let’s you dynamically change this. Usually this is a QR tool that charges a small fee rather than one of the free ones. Any hope this is the case?
