Display variant images on Resource Picker

When using the Resource Picker in a regular desktop browser, it displays thumbnail images of products, but not of variants.

When the picker runs in Shopify Mobile, it displays variant images.

Is there a way to optionally enable variant images on the picker for desktop/browser?

We have a merchant that is “forced” to use the app via Shopify Mobile only so they can see variant images, to complete the first half of the task, but the rest of the app works best in desktop, so they jump between the two to get the work done.

Other merchants have also reached out at various points in the past, wanting to see variant images. I’ve noticed in some product categories with lots of variants, it’s faster to parse things by image than text.

It seems like this would be a valuable addition.

Hey @flavio-b, nice to see you in the forums, hope all’s well! Definitely agree with you that this would be a good add (especially for access/use parity between mobile and the desktop). I appreciate that. Hope they take into consideration. I would also strongly suggest that this be made optional, to avoid changing the current behaviour. Images take up a lot of vertical space, so I’d include an opt-in toggle in the app for merchants that want this.
