My company has an external SaaS product called XEO — an AI-powered automation tool that writes and publishes blog posts automatically, using live keyword search data to help customers’ site rank.
We’re building a connector app that can connect a Shopify store to our SaaS platform. The main purpose of the app is to allow our customers to publish articles to their Shopify blog using the Shopify Admin API.
The connector app will be completely free — there’s no charge inside Shopify, and all billing (for XEO’s paid features) happens externally on our own SaaS platform.
My question is:
Do I need to implement the Shopify Billing API in order to pass the Shopify App Store review, if the connector app is free and only enables integration with XEO?
