Hiya,
Looking for some input..
Our client currently runs sales by adjusting the product price and setting a “compare at price”, their sales are often very specific and can’t be covered by general percentage discounts and so on.
They’d like to offer “Early Sales Access” to subscribers, so i.e. if you’re a subscriber you get access to the sales prices before the general public.
Now sadly catalogs can’t be used for i.e. a specific customer segment, and I haven’t really found anything off the shelf which allows you to “cherry pick” the prices on a per variant basis.
So my next plan is to write a custom Cart Transformation or Discount (they’re on Plus) but I’m unsure of how it would interact with Markets..
My plan is to introduce a “Sale Price” variant metafield, whereby the client can specify their sale prices (bulk updating with something like Ablestar or Matrixify) in the metafield and then using the Cart Transform API or Discount API I override the price (or provide a fixed discount negating both values).
My question is.. how do these interact with Markets? Do you just change the “Base Price” and Shopify handles the rest (conversion and any adjustments), or do you have to run some calculations yourselves?
To make matters a little more complex.. the clients pricing matrix for markets is to use a manual conversion rate of 1:1 but with +35% on top.
Thanks in Advance
