Edited fulfillment orders lose their "In store pickup" metadata

I’ve created a fulfillment order that’s a pickup order and added a line item to it.

  1. I have no option to make the new fulfillment order also a pickup order.
  2. If I merge the fulfillment orders I lose the pickup information.

Is there a way to keep fulfillment orders at the original shipping location during editing, adding items to an order, or merging fulfillment orders?
