We are currently encountering an unusual issue regarding our POS UI Extension (scoped to the Product Details screen).
The Issue:
Recently, a couple of merchants have reported seeing an error message overlaid on the Product Details screen in Shopify POS. The error reads:
“Session token fetch failed or Wishlist Plus. Check {name} permissions”
The Context:
What makes this behaviour unexpected is that these merchants confirm they have the extension disabled in their POS settings.
Our Question:
If the extension is explicitly disabled by the merchant, why is the app context or session token fetch logic still being triggered? We were operating under the assumption that a disabled extension would not attempt to load or request a session token.
