Feature Request - Ability to have Custom UI when using Shopify App Pricing

We are implementing Shopify App Pricing on our app but want to use our own custom UI for displaying and selecting pricing plans.

Our intended flow is:

  1. User views/selects a plan on our custom pricing page.

  2. We redirect the user to Shopify’s hosted Plan Approval page for approval.

  3. If the user clicks “Cancel” on the Plan Approval page, we want them redirected back to our custom pricing/plan selection page.

Support Required

  1. We can achieve the (2) with appropriate URL parameters. However it is not officially documented, hence provide official method to achieve the same. (or point us to official document that can allow the same)
  2. For (3), facilitate Cancel button on “Plan Approval” page to redirect to a desired page on the app dashboard.

This restriction could become a blocker for us to implement using Shopify App Pricing on our app.

Hey @Bhargav_Shah, redirecting to the pricing page is the documented behaviour for Shopify app pricing.

I will pass this on as a feature request on your behalf.

Before I do that though, can you share more details on why you are needing to use a custom UI for your pricing page? The reason I ask is that, similar to the checkout, Shopify merchants typically expect or are used to a certain experience, so when things deviate from that, it may hurt conversions or lower trust a little bit.

  1. Redirection: Yes pricing page redirection is straightforward. I am looking for a an official redirection method to be able to take user to a particular selected plan’s approval page.
  2. There are various reasons for custom UI. (Currently most Apps use manual pricing to achieve this.)
    1. The Shopify default behavior does not allow us to provide the user with all the details of the plan
    2. When the user has a plan selected and comes back on the plan selection page, they do not always see the plan options in the order that we would like them to see.
    3. We want the better marketing representation for our plans. Both language and UI.
    4. We want to dynamically propose user a plan that is most appropriate plan suitable to their requirement based on our onboarding flow and user selection.

Can it also be forwarded billing dashboard for merchants a ready component for react router apps using native app development kit? So we can embed it into our apps and merchants can track their usage and billing?
