To have a paid app in the development environment the app team has asked that the store they enable it for be ‘non-transferable’. I am not seeing a way to do this; any help would be appreciated!
Are you certain that’s their ask?
Is this ask a part of the app review process?
More context would be helpful to help answer the question. I know there are restrictions around Shopify Development Stores in particular. That’s nothing your app settings can change.
But perhaps if this reply came from the app review process, then maybe they’re trying to say they’re testing with a Development Store but cannot test paid features since live subscriptions won’t work with development stores.
There you go, though I don’t think you really need a “non-transferable” one but a dev store with the purpose “Create a store to test and build”
Hi @croo - just to confirm, did this request come from the Shopify App Review team?
Added dev-stores, partner-dash
Removed app-store
Thank you all! Sounds like I’ll need to create a new store instead of using the one we’re currently working on.
@Liam-Shopify It came from a specific app’s support team, not the Shopify app review team.
The full context for anyone in similar situation: We have a production site with a paid app. We asked that app’s support team if we could install it on the current dev store without paying (so we don’t have to pay twice), and they indicated that they could if it was non-transferrable.
Yes, some apps have conditions that are available on the store to test the features. However, the main point is that if you test and build a store, you won’t be able to shift or add a plan after development. It is solely for testing purposes.
I hope this helps you.
Thanks.
