How do large apps like Gempages and others display my shop without using the theme access app. Is there another way to run shopify theme dev, with an app generated auth token?? Thank you so much!

I want to build a non embedded app where i will need to run shopify theme dev, but that requires either the theme access app password or the oauth login of the user. Is there no way to get a oauth token from my own app that allows me to run shopify theme dev —password xy?
I don’t think I’ve encountered this flow before - why would you want to start a local dev theme running from inside an app?
Are you trying to get a preview of what the currently active theme looks like within an app?
