How to remove unwanted tags from customer tag suggestions?

Hi everyone,

In the Shopify Admin, when viewing a customer profile, we can add tags to customers. If we create a new tag and assign it, the tag is saved correctly. However, I’ve noticed that any new tags we create automatically start showing up in the Available suggestions list whenever we try to add tags again.

Over time, this list is getting cluttered with tags we no longer want to use. For example, in the attached screenshot, you’ll see some tags highlighted in the red box that I’d like to remove from the suggestions.

My question is:

• How can we remove or delete a tag from this suggestion list so it doesn’t keep showing up?

• Is there a way to clean up previously created tags without affecting customers who already have those tags assigned?

Hey @Shrutika_Lokhande, the available tags list will show all tags that are currently used, so the only way to remove it is to not use it anymore.

I would suggest sorting by recent so that you will be less likely to see the older tags.
