Hydrogen (v2) + Google Analytics

Working on a hydrogen storefront. We have implemented basic Google Analytics and Shopify Analytics into our stack. The question I have is, is there any need for us to install the the official Google app if we already implemented event tracking?

The app does not seem to be built for hydrogen based on the setup within the app (ie: asking us to create a storefront but we have one on hydrogen). Unless it helps to handle checkout / conversion events?

Update: There was no use case for us to add the Google app. We just built out the gtag (Google Tag) events within our stack and integrated directly with GA4.
