It looks like the new Catalog API is REST only? Are REST APIs coming back (I hope so)?

I was just going through the Winter 26 updates and was surprised to see “REST” mentioned and it seems the new Catalog API is REST only: Catalog API reference

Does this mean Shopify changed their mind about going GraphQL-only for all their APIs and is there a chance the “legacy” REST API endpoints will be supported again?

I understand this is a bit confusing, but the Catalog API is an exception for having a REST API. The Admin API continues to be fully GraphQL supported, and the REST API will remain legacy.

Thanks for confirming that Liam! I got a little excited when I saw that and hopeful the old REST APIs will be supported again as REST is so much simpler and easier to work with. :slight_smile:
