We’re seeing an increasing number of connections issues/timeouts. This is is likely another update in progress or some temporary glitch, but just wanted to report in case Shopify is not aware.
Edit: The actual error message is Failed to open TCP connection to http://[DOMAIN].myshopify.com:443/ (execution expired). We’re using the Shopify API gem for Ruby. API version is 2025-07.
Hey @Alan_G, @Liam-Shopify, are you seeing other reports of issues right now? We’ve been getting “Failed to open TCP connection” errors several times today when accessing the admin API. No update was done on our part recently. No issues listed with our server provider either.
I’m experiencing the same issue, and it has occurred several times today.
@Susan_Kapali, @Vaibhav_Kushwaha, just curious which server providers do you use? We’re on Heroku/AWS.
Shopify is saying the issue might have been some network problem, specific to a hosting provider.
The issue solved itself automatically on the next day, but I’m still curious.
