Open an external link in POS UI extension

Is there a way to open an external link (in my case a tracking URL) within a POS UI extension (2025-10)?

@Jens_Simon Loading external links within POS UI extensions is not currently supported.

I totally understand that external links should be used sparsely. It’s good to have strict set of how components should be used.

But there are use cases around where it still makes sense to open external links.

  • Tracking Link (open tracking in external browser?!)
  • Email Adresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Profiles
  • …

Something that is related to the POS app user’s task.

Also it would be good to even have the chance to render something that acts like a link.
Even if it’s not linking to something outside of POS app.

Will it be possible in the future to link to such external resources?
