Prevent product discounts from showing up below the subtotal on the order details page?

Hi there, we’ve recently received a question from a merchant about the behavior of the order details page when displaying product discounts. In addition to displaying these discounts at the line item level, they also appear below the subtotal on the order details page.

The merchant has also reported that the same behavior happens with built-in product discounts:

This leads us to two questions:

  1. Is this the intended behavior?
  2. Is there a way to prevent this when using Shopify Functions API discounts? The merchant would like for product discounts to only appear at the line item level.

hi @tobebuilds :waving_hand: Unfortunately there is no current workaround with the presentation of product discounts on the order details page. This inconsistency with checkout is something we’re aware of and have been exploring the best solution moving forward. If this is a limitation that’s impacting your business, I’d recommend opening a support ticket through your Partner Dashboard. This ensures your feedback gets tracked in our internal system and routed to the appropriate product team.
