I’m currently working in development, and the “Add to Favorites” button doesn’t seem to work. I’m wondering if it will start working automatically once the app is published. Could you please clarify how this feature works in production?

Hi, this is not a native Shopify feature and most likely powered by an app. I would suggest reaching out to the app developer.

Does the favorites button (the one with the heart icon) not work natively? I mean, do I need to make the API call myself for the product to be added to the user’s favorites list in production?

There is no favourites feature within Shopify.
You must use an app/custom app to obtain features/wishlist functionality.
You’ll need to develop your own app to implement this favourites feature, as Shopify itself does not provide this functionality.
